Christians have by God's grace been brought to
repentance from sin, and have been given the gift of faith to believe in
God's Son, Jesus Christ to live in His truth.
But one also knows God before one comes to faith. It is
not as though God did not exist until one all of a sudden one day come to
believe in Him. No, one knew God, but suppressed Him.
God is not unknown to people. Knowledge of God is
obvious. And it is not "God" as an unidentified entity everyone
knows. It is God as He has plainly reviled himself everyone knows. Yet people
suppress the truth. It is the living God that everyone knows; but we must all come to faith in Him.
